About Corey Layne
Educational Resource Services Trainer


Dr. Corey Layne, school psychologist, has worked in a variety of education related positions in West Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, and Georgia. She has worked as an educational consultant and school psychologist providing consultation and training to parents, teachers, and administrators. Dr. Layne has assisted educational agencies at local and state levels in restructuring schools in positive ways when the educational movement called for greater accountability. Her experience includes using techniques for linking assessment to interventions when consulting with teachers to enhance the classroom performance of students and establishing positive behavior programs.

Dr. Layne attended Marshall University where she earned her BA degree in Psychology, MA degree in Educational Administration, and her EDS degree in Adult and Technical Education with an emphasis in training. She also obtained an additional MA degree in Psychology, and Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology. Dr. Layne earned a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at Argosy University. Additionally, she is an approved Georgia Early Care and Education trainer with a Trainer III designation.

Dr. Layne has taught academic study skills at Marshall University and Strayer University and psychology courses at Ashland Community College, Strayer University, and Clayton State University. Dr. Layne currently works as a school psychologist for a local school district where she provides consulting, assessment, program development and training services.

Dr. Layne has taught hundreds of training programs related to Response to Intervention (RTI), collaborative problem solving, data-based decision making, assessment, training educators and administrators, program evaluation, counseling, bullying prevention, and developing academic and behavioral interventions. Dr. Layne's seminars are founded on peer-reviewed research, training, and education that have been shared with educators in local education agency trainings, seminars in various states, and at educational conventions. Her seminars are designed to link academic achievement and behavioral interventions.
